Join The Exploratorium for an immersive experience of the solar eclipse!

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will be visible from a narrow “path of totality” arcing from Mexico to Texas to Maine. During this stunning phenomenon, the moon will completely cover the disc of the Sun, revealing the full glory of the Sun’s outer atmosphere—its corona.

The Exploratorium is hosting an eclipse watch party at Pier 15. View live telescope images of the total solar eclipse from Texas and Mexico. Learn safe viewing techniques from their educators, and engage in fun activities while learning about the science of the eclipse. Visitors will get a free pair of solar viewing glasses while supplies last.
